Make a Wish....

What is it about these, um...weeds, that is so much fun?!

Have a Happy Weekend and enjoy the simple things!

PS don't forget about the GIVEAWAY over HERE!

Lovely Little GIVEAWAY!

I admit it. I am slightly addicted to making these sweet little dolls!

This is the latest one I was working on. She's all pretty and pink.

My plan is to make a few of these up, each one of a kind, and place them in the shop. All proceeds going towards our adoption fund.

Have I told you much about this? Sorry if I haven't. I do want to and there is plenty to share! Sometimes I never know exactly how much I should or shouldn't though. Thankfully, my dear husband is getting a little blog together specifically for our adoption, so when it's launched I will be sure to share the link. I would love for you to follow us along in our journey. It will be a different side of me than that of this blog and it's crafty ways, a little more personal you could say. I honestly cannot wait to share more about it!

Meanwhile, I have a question to those who might be reading this post. If you love creative things and making creative things and I were to come up with more lovely Matryoshka dolls, how would you like to see them? Such as, would you rather buy the finished product? Or like to see a kit with all you need to create your own? Or simply a pattern with instructions on how to make your own?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments! Also, leaving a comment also will enter you for a chance to win this pretty pink matryoshka ornament! Also, feel free to share the link on your own blog!

So, get ready and comment away by Wednesday the 29th! I will draw the winner the following day. Yay!

Baked Salmon with Cilantro and Lime

All I can say is YUMMMMM!

I know this is mostly my crafty blog, but I simply must share this with you!

I found THIS recipe the other day. I had some cilantro and to use up and some salmon to fix for our typical Thursday Fish Night. I'm not sure why Thursday, but it works for us. We love fish at our house.

Anyhoo, so I happened upon the Baked Salmon with Cilantro and Lime recipe. I have no picture to show you, sorry. I have never had both Cilantro and Salmon together before. I love Salmon and I love Cilantro (especially in my salsa!), but just never had the two at once.

Well, now it will be a regular in rotation! If you try it, let me know how you like it.

Happy Weekend to you!

A Little Bit of Spring

The other day I decided to take a moment to relax outside in the beautiful weather we had over Spring Break.

I checked some email, then put the computer away....it was just too pretty out there.

And look! I have purple toes! My sister has gotten me addicted to pedicures....

Then this little Monkey (who really does not like to be called "little" any longer....*sob*) came out to join me. I love this kid.

Then he took off and ventured around the backyard with some buckets finding all sorts of treasures.

While I was out there I noticed our vines were blooming with their pretty yellow flowers.

I love these. I have no clue what they are, but they are pretty and just make me happy.

They are super easy to care for too. I do nothing and they grow! How nice is that?! I wouldn't mind knowing what they are though. Anyone else by chance know? If ya do, please feel free to share.

And, now that the weekend is beginning a little early around here due to no school tomorrow or Monday, I am signing off and going to enjoy some family time.

Happy Easter weekend to you! God Bless!

Three Months and a Tie!

Not sure why it took me so long to get this pattern accomplished, but it did. Mainly due to illness, family stuff and, well, being mom to the Monkey a higher priority. That could be why.

Anyhoo, I finally finished this and have a dear friend testing the pattern out for me to make sure it works and all. I think my most favorite part of this creation is that it is reversible! Yes, a washable reversible tie for the little man!

Check back next week as this should be up in my SHOP soon. That along with some other fun items I have been working on. Can't wait to reveal more...

Happy Wednesday!

Looking Through the Window

This is a fun little project I did a couple weekends back. I had this vintage window I purchases several years back from a local antique shop. I remember they had some lovely shabby chic items in their booth. Delightful to look at!

Through the last several years, this window has traveled around with me and ended up in various rooms of the house. Finally it went above the fire place in this little niche and fit just right. I took some family photos and had them hang out in there for a couple years. Then I rearranged again and it got put away for a bit in the guest/storage room.

Then, I rearranged some more! I put the window back in the niche above the fire place and it just worked. Again. But it needed something. Being that that room was once the family room, now turned dining room. I wanted something other than pictures of people.

So, I thought about something with leaves or tree like. I grabbed some decorative paper I had in my old "paper scraping" stash. (I don't paper scrap any longer...I went digital and STILL can't seem to get more than two books done. I guess I like the journaling aspect more? Who knows. One day....).

So, I took the paper and just randomly cut out some "leaves" and took some double sided tape and stuck 'em up in the window.

Tada!

I don't remember what the window cost me, but the paper I got at Joann's for under $2.
