Eight

Over the weekend my son turned eight.

Someone hold me.

Eight. How can this be?!

I probably say it every year, but I cannot believe it has been this long. Eight years.

My boy. He loves math, reading, TaeKwonDo,  Music. Oh yes, music....a beat he hears and his feet he can't keep still. (He gets it from me). Even more so, he loves God. His current 'I want to be' when he grows up is a fire fighter and a race car driver. He's also already started saving for his first bike....

The motorcycle kind.

Help me now.

This boy. Eight short years ago fit so easily into a cuddle and now? Now barely can fit on my lap when he does want a snuggle moment with his mama.

Nerf gun waring, trampoline jumping, popsicle eating, donut loving, beat the pants off me Wii playing, fun loving, contagious giggle producing, beach loving....and much more...boy of mine.

Happy Birthday my son. You are incredible. You are smart. You are loved.

Inspiration Workshop: Sunshine

My take on sunshine is not your typical sunny beaches with brightly colored beach umbrellas sprinkled about.

It's not backyard slip n slides, bubble blowing and green grass...

Or the smell of sunscreen and chlorine mingled in the clothes to be washed from days spent outside in the sun.

I love all those things, but what I think about when I hear the word 'sunshine' is a person who's life forever changed mine for the better.

My Gramms.

(my Gramms when she was around 18 years of age)

My Gramms favorite color was yellow and her favorite flowers were yellow roses. She loved sun drenched Fall days and the golden colored leaves mingling as they fell to the ground.

She had the best laugh and would fill a room with sunshine when she smiled.

She knew how to make anyone feel welcome and her home was always a happy place to be.

Sunshine. My grandmother was full of beautiful sunshine....

And on those rare sunny days in the Fall, when a glimpse of sunshine is peaking through the trees and the golden colored leaves...I will be thinking of her. Missing her.

Sunshine was my Gramms.

InstaFriday

How was your week? This is a little glimpse into mine...

Enjoying the parade and what it's all about.
And enjoying the candy given out at the parade...we now have a bag full. Oy.
Rain clouds...oh how we've needed them! And they were nice enough to bring some rain showers with them.
Me and the Mister driving about.
Enjoying summertime fun with the cousins.

Happy feet after a much needed pedicure. Went with my sis and her two kiddos joined us...yes, even my nephew. He loves getting his feet all nice and de-funked. ;)
