How Time Zooms!!!
Wow, last week was just crazy busy and it wasn't until Thursday I realized I hadn't even done one blog post! Oops.
It was VBS (vacation bible school) at my church and I was helping out with the pre-k cooking class. Usually I do the art class, but I have to say I really enjoyed the cooking this year!
Meanwhile, back at the crafty-ness of things, not a single stitch of sewing was accomplished this last week. How sad. Not any crafty-ness at all really. I am having withdraw! Hopefully this week will provide some much needed crafty time. There is a little project I did manage to get started this past weekend, so maybe I will have some pics to show of that later in the week. Yay!
I am also terribly behind on responding to email and such. Between VBS and the time crunch of the home stretch in our adoption paperwork for our dossier, well, time has just not been plentiful for these things. AND it's Summer! So that means lots of swimming and the like happening, cause well, almost six year old boys just don't stay entertained with play-dough and cars anymore. They need lots...LOTS...of activity and play dates and stuff. Swimming usually does the trick. It's pretty much too HOT out there for much else. Hence why we will be having some sort of water party for his birthday coming up next month. Wait, next month! Eek! I have some planning to do!
So, I hope all had a lovely weekend and have a fabulous week! I will be back soon with (hopefully) some fun stuff to share.
Happy Monday!

Sad Tomatoes
Things that can make one not so happy when looking at their veggie garden:
Oooh, how I love little birdies, but NOT when they eat my tomatoes! This is the third one in two days. So sad.
Anyone got some suggestions on how to prevent this? I should add, in a safe and chemical free way. :)
Here's hoping the weekend sees more tomatoes eaten.....by my family...

Wishlist Wednesday
Ah, how I love cooking! Okay, not always. I do enjoy it quite a lot and especially when I remember to plan meals ahead, things go a bit better. However, I am thinking some of these fabulous items just might help out a little more!
Naturally, one must have some recipes to use and how cute and handy are these?!
Printable Recipe Cards
Ooh! And one could always use a few extra of these around:
Handprinted Kitchen Towels
This could definitely come in handy!
Mortar and Pestle
And I am all about this apron!
pears full apron
Hmm, I am feeling a sudden urge to cook something...

Craft Hope Dolls
As promised, here are the pics of the sweet little dolls my niece and I made for Craft Hope Project 2.
There were some free patterns listed, but Mely and I decided to come up with our own. It reminded me of the time, at about the same age my niece is now, that my Gramms and I made my first handmade doll together, start to finish. I wanted so badly to learn to make a doll with my own pattern. So, my Gramms showed me how!
It is a memory that still feels like it just happened yesterday. I wish I still had that doll. She was lost in one of our moves and I have no idea what became of her. I do remember I named her Ruth ( after the one in the Bible ) and she had red yarn hair (it was what we had on hand) and a reddish-brown dress. Her body was made from a vintage white sheet. She was lovely.
These dollies are made from different cotton prints, flannel and a bit of felt for their hair. We hand embroidered their faces.
Mely was fascinated by the whole process and seemed to love tho whole thing, from start to finish. The girl has crafting in her blood apparently, as my sister told me that Mely told her "gifts made by hand are from the heart and are more special than those that are not handmade". Then she announced to me that she wants to make everyone handmade gifts this year! I love it.
I let my niece choose the fabrics. I think she did pretty good! She also got to use the sewing machine and put most of the blue one together.
I have to say, these dollies are addicting to make! I did end up making one more to send, but no picture here of her. I honestly wanted to make lots more!
Their size is perfect for using up bits of fabric stash. Very fun. Don't be surprised if you see more of these around here.

Wishlist Wednesday
For those that don't know, I have been training for a 5K for the past month now. It's been over six years since I have been able to really jog and so I am taking my time. However, sometimes I push a little harder and my muscles could really use a pleasant soaking in a nice, hot bath.
The other night I went to take just such a thing. And I ran out of soaking bubble stuff. *sigh*. And it got me thinking about other lovely bath products out there that would make soaking achy, tired muscles even more lovely!
And so, here is this weeks Wishlist Wednesday, dedicated to the art of bubble baths.
First up:
Rosemary Mint Olive Oil and Aloe Vera Shampoo and Body Bar
Oh, and one must have one of these:
Luxury Silk Eye Mask
And some of this:
Calming Cucumber Melon Body Polish
And how fascinating is this?!
Bubble Bath Dough
Oh the lovely fragrance of this! Mmmmm...
Aromatherapy Perfume
Makes me wish I could go take a bath right now....but alas, no time for it right now. Maybe later, after all are settled in bed and there is some brief quite time...
